Greetings from Mafia Island and thank you for choosing to book your stay at Meremeta Lodge!

Before you arrive, we just wanted to share a little bit of information for your stay.

Our daily rate includes breakfast, Wifi, tea & coffee as well as the use of the lodge’s bicycles to explore!

As you already know, Meremeta Lodge is located within the Mafia Island Marine Park which means you will be expected to pay a daily fee during your time here. The fees are collected directly by the Marine Park Authorities at the entry gate and are charged as follows:

Children Under 5 – Free
Children 5 to 15 – US$ 14
Adults – US$ 24

Once you are in the Marine Park there is plenty to keep you occupied. We offer a selection of excursions to our guests including fishing trips, whale shark watching and various adventures around the island. If you would like more information beforehand just ask, but don’t worry, we can organise it all easily once you get here.

At our Lodge you can pay for any extras with cash or credit card but please be aware that we do include a 5% surchage for this service.

Of course one of the main attractions of Mafia is the scuba diving. We recommend booking with the only PADI 5 star centre on the island; Mafia Island Diving. They are able to offer services in 8 languages and offer diving in small groups. During busy seasons, it is best to contact them in advance so that you avoid any last minute disappointments with availability. If you are interested, let us know and we will put you in touch?

If you are flying to Mafia you will arrive into Kilindoni, the main town on Mafia. It is about 30 minutes drive from Meremeta Lodge and should you wish, we can arrange for a transfer for US$ 20 one way.
